Our Causes

MAYS LAW

The Gwinnett County Bar Association provides countless opportunities for Gwinnett attorneys, judges, clerks, and others involved the legal community to interact socially and engage with each other. At Mays Law, we believe it is important to support and be a part of our local legal community and businesses.

John Mays founded the GCBA Personal Injury Section in July 2023 and is the President of the GCBA Personal Injury Section for the 2023-2024 Bar Year. Similar to the larger, state-wide organization, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the GCBA Personal Injury section provides continuing education and professional networking tailored for local Gwinnett personal injury attorneys as well as other attorneys interested in growing their injury and workers compensation practices.

Giving Kitchen is a nonprofit that helps food service workers in crisis. Giving Kitchen provides stability through referrals to a network of low or no-cost community resources. Food service workers who have experienced an injury, illness, housing disaster, or death of a family member can also receive financial assistance to cover living expenses.

This nonprofit is especially important to Mays Law, since John Mays supported himself through school serving and bar tending at various local restaurants. John loves that he is now in a position to positively impact the lives of food service workers who have experienced injuries, housing disasters, or the death of a family member.

Christmas Toy Fundraiser

Each year starting in November, the Gwinnett Bar raises donations and collects toys valued at least $25 for the sick children at Children's Hospital of Atlanta. Mays Law donated toys and attended the Toy Raiser luncheon to show support and raise awareness for this wonderful way to brighten a sick child's day.

Jambos is on a mission to bring comfort to kids in the foster care system by providing them with brand new pajamas. Jambos partners with the community and local businesses to host pajama drives, collecting thousands of pairs of brand new pajamas to be shipped to children in foster care all over the world. Jambos knows the comfortable feeling that comes from putting on brand new pajamas, and it is their hear to share that feeling with the children they serve.

Mays Law was a proud event sponsor of the Jambos Gala hosted on March 10, 2023. The Jambos Gala raised donations and new pajamas for the children in foster care, featuring a fabulous live auction, dinner, and dancing. It was a great way to get dressed up for the night and to raise money and awareness for a wonderful cause!
